Tasting Sensory Class - Floral Syrups vs Floral Honeys

  • CoNectar 409 Grant Ave Pittsburgh, PA, 15209 United States (map)

Explore spring bloom foraging from a bee and honey perspective, making and tasting recipes from saucer magnolia (Magnolia × soulangeana), common dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) and common violet (Viola soria).  The internet is full of confusion about what constitutes a floral syrup vs a floral honey so we'll clarify how they are defined.  True honey is a radically different product from a sugar syrup.  As part of foraging education, we'll learn about respectful and safe foraging practices and how to continuously consult with experts before striking out on your own.
